Why do I need my form notarized? OH Abbreviated: What to do when you can’t be verified electronically.

To begin your driver’s education online courses, you have to complete the verification process and sign a contract. Unfortunately, not everyone can be verified online. If this happens, you will need to complete a verification form and have it notarized. Until then, you will not be able to access your classes.

Why do I need my form notarized?

This is required by the Ohio BMV to verify you are the person we will be providing a Certificate of Completion. In an article written by the balance, we’re told a notarized document is a document that has been certified by a notary public. The notary public is an official who verifies the identities of everybody signing the document, witnesses the signatures, and marks the document with a stamp (or “seal”). A notary is supposed to ensure that all signatures on a document are legitimate and a notary will refuse to validate a signature if there are any potential problems with the signer.

Additional Required form to be Notarized for the BMV

The Ohio BMV also requires students to practice driving before retaking the driving test. If you choose 24 hours of driving with a licensed driver 21 years of age or older, they will require you to provide a completed and notarized Twenty-Four Hour Affidavit (form BMV 5789). You will be bringing this form to the road test. We do not require this form. To save on time, you can get both notarized at the same time – if you have completed the 24-hour drives before taking the 4 hour Ohio Abbreviated Course.
